Dang, Screaming Trees...
It's been awhile since I've shared my two cents and a somewhat miserable week. Miserable seems like a strong word, since I really just had a bit of pain and slept a lot -- I love to sleep.
I am recovering from strep throat, three days into antibiotics--only 7 more to go! This little sore throat has kicked my butt. Not only have I done little more than sleep for a week, but I'm emotional too. The emotions have just cropped up in the past couple days, which confirms my theory that the sedentary life is not for me.
I watched an interesting movie last night, Across the Universe, it's a musical with a bunch of Beatles songs and I really liked it and the songs--all my favorites. All my hippie friends in El Portal, CA came to mind and man do I miss them. Other thoughts were about friendships. It seems like the world has become more isolated and gone to the opposite extreme of the Hippie LOVE like of the 60's. It made me realize how much I need my friends and how important it is to stay connected. Seems so easy to let the small matters of life garble up the time. Hail to the hippies. I think it's true that "all we need is love".
Enough mushy stuff. I took my sorry bunda to Oak Creek Canyon today for a bit of fresh air. Sore throat or not, I needed to get out of the house. I took a short walk and listened to the raging waters as I snapped a few photos...here they are...
