Happy Cinco de MAYO

It's been exactly two years since they took a sliver of my hamstring and shoved it in my knee to replace my torn ACL. It's been almost three years since I've gone running. I used to dream about it when I was recovering from the surgery. I decided for Cinco de Mayo that I'd start running. It makes sense since I am now 40 (really 41, but you can believe my facebook if you want to :), work a desk job and don't get out as much as I used to. I started with a mile on Saturday and upped that to a mile and a quarter yesterday. Surprised that I am sore, but am happy about it. It feels really good and for the first time in a long, long time I'm pain free. I still have to take it easy because I get really, really tired from the strep throat recovery--I don't want to do too much--which is my MO. The good news is I'm forced to rest this week because I have to take driving school for running a red light that I did not run. :( It's amazing how things just work out -- forced rest.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!
