We went to the Peaks on Saturday. It was unbelievably beautiful. There's so much green on the mountain this year with all the snow and rain. Green grasses fill the spaces between fat Aspens and towering pine trees. The drive takes about 20 minutes on a dirt road. Around each turn is a different stand of Aspens and scattering of boulders. There was even water flowing through the road.
We parked and made our way up the trail covered with a lush canopy (well, by Arizona standards). This year we have a spring. Normally we don't see any flowers until after the monsoons hit - not until August. Flowers are blooming everywhere though this year.
The Peaks were lovely and sharp. We had had a wonderful and relaxed day.
