Birthdays

Tomorrow is the Birthday of two of my favorite people -- my dear husband Rich and friend Karrie. The weeks leading up to this day have been busy and interesting. I really wanted this year to be special, as I actually had a little money this year. In putting my plans together I got to converse with many of my inlaws, developing our relationship further, and deepening my love and appreciation of them. They are the family I always wanted. The time we spend with them makes me feel fulfilled and happy.

I spent the last week working two jobs. I was finishing up a website I designed at home and then doing my regular job. I spent my days at work and nights on my groovy new iMac. So it didn't seem that bad.

I found myself really tired this weekend, though. We were lucky enough to have gorgeous rain storms all weekend. We went to the Gloria's on Saturday and got rained out after a somewhat smarmy climbing experience, but it was so lovely. The rain ran off the tripping teenagers, so we had the place to ourselves. We hid in the heart cave until we realized it wasn't going to lessen and then jetted to the car. We hit the climbing gym after that with muddy legs and I got to see my great buddy Sam - who is one of my favorite climbing partners.

I don't really remember what we did between then and when we went to see BB KING live at the Pine Mtn Ampitheatre with my other favorite peeps Franc & Jeans. It was all I had hoped and more. Can't believe that guy is 82! I love the blues and often think I should have been born much earlier in time, a time that was a little more old fashioned and the music was more real. I mean, I just love big bands and all the instruments, but particularly the trumpet and sax -- which blew me away. With the good company, the music, the stars and many clouds floating around them and the half moon, it just couldn't have been better.

Rich and I missed dinner so after chillin' to the blues we went to the Villiage Inn for some breakfast, just before they closed at midnight. It was so fun and the pancakes and eggs (Rich had biscuits and gravy) were soo good!

The highlight of my day today was yoga with Erin. It feels like going to church should. I leave feeling clean and new (and sore), refreshed. I wish I could go everyday. Plus Jeans was there and she always makes me smile.

So, back to work tomorrow...I always look forward to going to work, but lately have wondered why when I got there. It's not the work, it's me. Just missing vacations. Last year we took a three week vacation/honeymoon to Turkey. I really have the itch to travel.

...the end for now...Happy Birthday Rich and Karrie! Love you!!
